Fighting Foodwaste with Fabric and AI
As part of the global fabric AI Hackathon we built an end-2-end solution to help combat foodwaste in your kitchen.
The solution allows users to scan products that go into the fridge, send that information to a fabric notebook that then uses AI to estimate the expiry date and store the product in a virtual fridge. A semantic model then forms the basis for a reflex that triggers when food is about to go off and in turn triggers a power automate flow that uses AI to invent tasty recipe ideas with the food that needs to be uses up pronto, plus other ingredients that are in the virtual fridge.
In this presentation we will walk viewers through the architecture involving Power Apps, AI Builder, Power Automate, Azure Open AI, Fabric Lakehouse, Notebooks, Semantic Models and Reflex. We finish off the session with a demo of the fine tuning capabilities of open ai to create your own custom master chef.
Best of all? Attendees will receive a link to a github repo and video tutorial to rebuild the solution in their own time!
Harnessing Metadata-Driven Pipelines in Fabric
In this session, you'll discover how implementing metadata-driven pipelines in Microsoft Fabric enhances flexibility, maintainability, and scalability. By leveraging metadata, you can create pipelines that adapt to your business logic without the need for repetitive coding. Join us to learn how this approach can help you optimize your pipeline management, and prepare your data architecture for the future.
A Hand-on Exploration of the Azure OpenAI API
This workshop offers an invaluable opportunity for individuals and companies seeking to enhance their workflows by strategically incorporating natural language processing (NLP) capabilities into their data infrastructure. Participants will gain insights into real-world applications and learn how to effectively integrate Azure OpenAI API to tackle industry-specific challenges. Moreover, key topics including model enhancement techniques such as prompt engineering, RAG, and Fine-Tuning will be covered. Additionally, we will be joined by Microsoft representatives who will address governance and security considerations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of these crucial aspects when using Azure OpenAI Service. The skills acquired in this workshop are transferrable to the utilization of the OpenAI API.

Creating a Modern Data Lakehouse with Azure Synapse Analytics
Understand the concepts, differences and the purpose of a Data Lakehouse as well as key technological advancements, such as the Delta Lake format, that have enabled this solution. Identify whether your organization could and / or should implement this data management architecture and the added benefits that come with it. Additionally, learn to provision and use your own Data Lakehouse using Azure Synapse Analytics and connect it to a Power BI report, putting theory into practice.
