During my 10+ years of hands-on experience in Software Engineering, I have primarily focused on .NET-based solutions and Azure as a cloud-services provider. I have worked with pretty much all kinds of applications, from small Windows Forms tools to large-scale enterprise web-based solutions. The more I code, the more I realize that my true passion is solution design and software architecture, regardless of tech-stack and platform.

It's not even news any more. Large and small organizations get hacked with the blast radius defining whether they end up in the headlines or not. In this session I will present you with a tangible plan of actions to take, to get you back on your feet as soon as possible with as little damage as possible. In my case I will use Microsoft Azure but the learnings are easily transferable.
Here's why your cloud migration project sucked
I know it, you know it, but many might still wonder why. Migration projects are not easy to "sell" and can be very complicated, very costly and seldom are remembered with joy. I have recently completed an Azure migration which happily ended in a success and I am happy to share all the juicy details, both technical and non-technical. There were plenty of challenges along the way and I did have to joggle here and there. I learned a lot from this project and I believe that you will be surprised once or twice, maybe even inspired.

In this session, I’ll walk through the real-world process of designing and building a cloud-based, multi-tenant SaaS product using Azure. From managing multi-tenant architectures and backend services to integrating the frontend, you'll get a detailed look at the challenges I faced and the solutions we implemented. This is the story of an Azure architecture that was designed to consume 100 requests per hour, then the requirements changed and we had to consume 1000 requests per minute, while the budget remained the same.
In this session, I will show you the tricks I used to go around the various limitations of Azure's cheapest (yet production-eligible) tiers of Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, Azure Service Bus and others.
