Nikunj Karoliya is a Lead Mechanical Engineer with nearly 20 years of experience in automotive design and development. Currently serving as Lead Engineer at Pebble Mobility Inc since October 2024, he focuses on structural design, component integration, and design optimization for the Pebble Flow product line, including aero box assemblies, E-step components, and camera mounting systems.
Prior to his current role, Nikunj spent over three years as Lead Closure Engineer at Lucid Motors, where he was instrumental in developing the Lucid AIR, Lucid AIR PURE, and LUCID SAPPHIRE models. His responsibilities encompassed closure body-in-white design for front doors, rear doors, hoods, and decklids, while implementing DFMA, DFMEA, and cost reduction strategies throughout the product development lifecycle.
His career progression includes significant roles at Honda R&D in Raymond, Ohio, where he worked on the 2017 Honda Odyssey and 2021 Acura TLX projects, specializing in sliding door and front door systems. He also contributed to projects at RLE International, TATA Technologies, EATON India Engineering Center, and TATA MOTORS, gaining expertise across diverse automotive applications from closure architecture to rapid prototyping and aerospace components.
Nikunj holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the Institution of Engineer (AMIE), Calcutta, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic, Mumbai. He is proficient in CATIA/3DEX/NX software platforms and possesses comprehensive knowledge of GD&T, material selection, manufacturing processes, and quality control methodologies. Based in Fremont, California, he continues to drive innovation in mechanical design while mentoring junior engineers and optimizing manufacturing processes.
