Does it always have to be K8s? Running multiple customer-facing application in Fargate!

Since AWS EKS everyone is able to get an own Kubernetes cluster within minutes up and running. As most teams we also started with our own EKS cluster - why? Cause it is hip and everyone out there is using Kubernetes and yes, a lot of success stories as well! But we quickly realized that it might be overloaded - too much for what we are looking for. We want a way to run a microservice-based application with a lot of Docker containers in a production environment with less effort. Kubernetes is great - but it brings a lot of configuration and operational tasks we don't want to have in the future. And even more the integration in AWS Services (like lambda trigger) is not what we were looking for.
So we replaced our EKS cluster and started using Fargate - yes less hype and probably less success stories but if you're interested in running and operation a microservice application - you should definitely consider it.
