Nur Aini Rakhmawati is a professor in the Information Systems Department and the Deputy Head of the Halal Centre at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya, Indonesia. She earned her PhD from the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at NUI Galway, Ireland, her Master's degree from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and her Bachelor's degree from ITS Surabaya. Her current research interests include knowledge graphs, big data, and computer ethics.

She is the founder of several halal applications and has received multiple accolades, including the Graphie Award for Graph Community MVP Asia (2020), the ASEAN Scientist Leader Fellowship (2017), the Systers Pass It On Award (2011), the Grace Hopper Scholarship (2008), the N2Women Fellowship (2008), and the Google Summer of Code (2007). Recently, she has been actively involved in outreach to small and micro-businesses to support the implementation of Halal Assurance Systems.
