Harold Oehler is the primary author of the Florida Mediation Best Practices Handbook, Florida’s first best practices handbook for mediation. Harold is one of only approximately 140 mediators in the United States to be inducted into the American College of Civil Trial Mediators. He is also a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. Mr. Oehler is past Chairman of the Mediation and Arbitration Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and serves on the Executive Council of the Florida Bar’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section. In 2022, Harold received the ADR Section’s MVP Award for his work in engaging mediators, trial lawyers and their clients to improve mediation together. This CLE is part of that ongoing collaborative effort.

Mr. Oehler has sat in every seat in the mediation room during his legal career having worked both as a trial lawyer and as an in-house General Counsel who attended mediations throughout the country in the decision maker’s seat. Having spent more than three decades mediating from every seat in the room, Harold’s unique legal and business background allows him to connect with decision makers, adjusters and trial lawyers during mediation.
