Hi, I'm Oscar - a father of 4 that loves technology since I can remember, I've written my first code in the 90s and never stopped. As a developer with a passion for networks/infrastructure and hardware I got excited about the potential of Microsoft Azure early on. You can find me talking about PaaS and Serverless at conferences, podcasts, on blogs or youtube whenever there is time.

Azure Static Web Apps and the api multiverse

Some services are so good that you're not just a user, you are a fan! Azure Static Web Apps is an amazing fit for really common use cases. The service has evolved since its introduction and now has a wide choice of backends. This session is filled with demos showing off all the cool parts of Azure Static Web Apps including the different backend options: Azure Functions, App Service, Api Management and especially Azure Container Apps.

Bye bye Azure DevOps, hello GitHub!

Are you thinking to move from Azure DevOps to GitHub? You are not alone, it is clear that GitHub is getting a lot of attention and that it is not only for Open Source. In this talk we go through the menu items of Azure DevOps and explore their counterparts in GitHub. We'll compare boards to projects and issues, pipelines to actions and how to deploy to Azure. Next to this we will highlight some of the GitHub features that make developer life a little bit better!

Ideal audience: developer who has Azure DevOps experience.

Azure Functions Isolated, the same but different

Serverless can be awesome, Azure Functions is great example that has been around for a while now. But stuff evolves and can get complicated, when creating an Azure Function now you have seven variations to choose from. That's in c# alone!
In this session we will dive into the 'new' isolated model find out why it's there. We will look into the similarities and the differences. With demos and example code we will explore bindings, dependency injection, middleware and durable functions. This session will help you wrap you head around the current state of Azure Functions.

Live (coding) demos, need to know some modern c# to follow. Duration: 60 mins.

Leaving App Service for Azure Container Apps

For a while now Azure Container Apps is available, doubting to move over? Have you been successfully using Azure App Service for years and tried to stay away from the unnecessary complexity of Kubernetes.

In this session we will look from the perspective of a developer that is using Azure Devops to deliver their apps to Azure PaaS. We will go through some of the hurdles moving to Container Apps while learning about the features of this awesome service. We will talk about some Azure history and end up with a working demo (if the yaml gods allow).

After this session you will be able to determine if you should explore Container Apps or just stay where you are, because as always.. it depends.
