Dr. Chapman is a seasoned school psychologist with a focus on driving systemic change in educational settings. As the lead school psychologist for his district, he has pioneered the district’s training program for emerging school psychologists, encompassing interns and practicum students. Concurrently, he serves as an adjunct instructor in the School Psychology program at Ottawa University.
Earning his Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Arizona, Dr. Chapman brings academic rigor to his practical application. He holds the position of Western Regional Director for the Arizona Association of School Psychologists and serves on the Board of the Parent Student Prison Initiative.
Dr. Chapman is a highly sought-after speaker, having presented at platforms such as the Arizona Alliance of Black School Educator’s Teacher Leadership Summit, the Innovative School Summit in Chicago, and the Urban Collaborative member meeting. His presentations often revolve around themes like equity in education, addressing challenging behavior in educational environments, and reimagining special education.
In 2022, he was honored as a Champion of Equity by the American Consortium for Equity in Education, a testament to his commitment to creating inclusive spaces. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Chapman is active in philanthropy and is committed to giving back to the community.
He currently balances his career with family life, sharing his journey with his wife, whom he met during his undergraduate years, and their two young daughters.
