Kennedy Owor is a multi-skilled lawyer passionate about human rights, ICT, innovation, access to justice and climate justice. He holds a Master of Laws from University of Pretoria, Bachelor of Laws from Uganda Christian University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Kennedy worked and studied in South Africa and Nigeria and is currently the Innovations & Advocacy Lead at Legal Hub Uganda – a duly registered non-governmental organisation in Uganda.

Throughout the four-years of work and study experience, Kennedy’s input has contributed to the promotion and protection of human rights, climate justice, access-to-justice, dispute resolution, and the use of innovative technologies to empower and build capacities on legal knowledge. As a self-driven, creative, and dynamic individual; his earnest efforts saw the conception of the “Legal Podcast” – an innovation that secured two national awards for Legal Hub Uganda in 2019 and 2020. The Legal Podcast has been a game-changer in fighting ignorance of the law, promoting human rights, climate education, and access-to-justice.

Kennedy is eager to apply his proven research, and analytical skills in research and publication, policy writing, planning and creativity in Organisations and companies. He like participating in conferences, conventions, seminars, symposiums, and public lectures that provide for him a platform to share his knowledge and experiences. Most importantly, Kennedy is a prospective session speaker in the African Internet Governance Forum 2023 and when chosen for this Forum, he expects to learn, network, partner and share his experiences with other delegates. After the Forum, Kennedy envisions a positive impact in his community in Uganda where he will use the skills, knowledge, networks and partnership gained from Forum to better his community.
