I am a Computer Engineer who has studied mainly in Spain, and I have also studied in the United States and Austria through university exchange programs.

I started my professional career in Spain as a Linux system administrator. After moving to Amsterdam in The Netherlands, I have continued my professional career working on infrastructure and operations issues with Linux clusters in different projects. I also worked with Openstack to virtualize the clusters of the company where I was working at the time. Later the company adopted Kubernetes, and I was able to take my first steps in containers.

Since 2018 I have worked on different projects with Azure and Kubernetes, both as an employee of a consulting firm, and as a freelancer.

Finally, since the end of the Covid pandemic, I've been attending meetups and conferences (in person and virtual) more often to meet more people with my same interests.

Speed Debating

The Speed Debating is a different kind of session where attendees will dive into an electrifying, hands-on format—no slide decks in sight. In three rapid-fire rounds, attendees will pair up to debate a provocative question for a few minutes, then reconvene to share their takeaways with the whole group. Fast, fun, and unpredictable, this format keep everyone's toes and mind racing.

Masters of Skill: The Certification Dilemma

Are certifications the ultimate proof of expertise, or do real-world projects hold the key to mastery? In this session, we’ll dive into the ongoing debate surrounding professional certifications.

We'll explore their value in validating knowledge, the gaps they leave in practical application, and how they can complement hands-on experience to create well-rounded professionals. Through compelling visuals and thought-provoking examples, we’ll uncover the role of certifications in career growth, their impact on the tech ecosystem, and why balancing certifications with real-world projects is the true mark of a "Master of Skill."

Whether you're a certification enthusiast, a skeptic, or somewhere in between, this talk will provide actionable insights to navigate the certification dilemma with confidence.

CKAD + CKA + CKS: The Kubernetes Certification Trilogy

We will explore the three most coveted certifications in the Kubernetes world: CKAD, CKA, CKS. As someone who has successfully conquered these exams, I will share my personal experiences, study strategies, and practical tips that will guide attendees on their certification journey.

This presentation is divided into 2 parts:

1.- CKAD + CKA: Here I will give the most generic tips for the exams: study materials, preparation strategy, tables with the different exercises and how to iterate efficiently on them, efficient creation of objects, quickly review the exercises, day of the exam, the exam environment, etc....

2.- CKS: For this part I will focus on the different tools and topics that will be present during the preparation of the certification and the exam. The difficulty of this exam is focused on the large number of tools to use and the api-server restart, and that's where I want to insist a lot, so that the attendees get a great experience after the presentation.
