Professor of Environmental Studies and former Chief Sustainability Officer at Binghamton University, Pam Mischen also runs an organic vegetable and poultry farm in central Vermont. As founder of the Climate Change Quilt Project, she is preparing for her transition from professor to climate change activist.
Climate Change Quilt
Are you frustrated with the lack of attention being given to climate change? Make your voices heard by participating in the Climate Change Quilt project. Join Binghamton University and the University of Vermont in their efforts to create at least 1,000 bed-sized quilts on the theme of climate change. The Climate Change Quilt room will be open (insert times) for anyone who wants to take some time out and engage in the mindful and hands-on activity of quilt making. Don't worry if you have no sewing skills. We will have ways to contribute to the project as long as you know how to use scissors! We will also teach you how to start a Climate Change Quilt project at your own school. All supplies are provided, but if you have an old shirt, sheet, or pillowcase lying around that you want to contribute, please bring it with you.
