Impostor syndrome in Tech
IT impostor syndrome Do you ever get that awful feeling that you're not good enough to do your job? That you lack skills, intelligence and talent? That everyone around you knows what they're doing, and you just slip through by luck, chance, and appearing to be better than you really are? Do you live in fear that it's only a matter of time before someone discovers you're just a fraud?
You are not alone.
According to research, Impostor Syndrome affects almost 90% of people working in IT. In this presentation, I will unravel this phenomenon, explore why it is so dominant in our industry, how one gets into a vicious circle and where it can lead to. I will discuss how the awareness of simple mechanisms will help you see your competencies and what tricks to use to defy the demons of insecurity.

S, BB, X, Y, Z, a - a plethora of generations in Tech
The conflict between generations is an eternal topic. There have always been the older ones - wise and experienced - and the younger ones - demanding, naive and unmannered. Or rather: the older ones - decrepit and hampering progress - and the younger ones - creative, brave and changing the world.
But is it really? Are generational differences simply myths and harmful stereotypes - or are they facts useful for resolving conflicts and building productive cooperation, and even a better world?
So - what (if at all) are the generations of Gordon Moore, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Greta Thunberg different from each other? What is the Culture of Mysterious Children and Reverse Mentoring? Does history go in circles with a diameter of 80 years? What do we owe to the silent generation, and what does the future hold? And above all – how does all this affect the labor market and the IT world?
Stay awhile and listen.

Fighters, Bards, Druids and Wizards in It – how to talk to them?
Do you ever feel like you're surrounded by characters that are impossible to get along with and insufferable? Are they too loud and too breakneck or are they always silent? Do they ask too many questions or don't read emails at all? Are they late for meetings or suck all the air from the room? Trample everyone bluntly or beat around the bush endlessly?
Adventures in a diverse team of wanderers in the land of IT can be a difficult challenge. Rude Warriors, narcissistic Bards, slow Druids and cold Wizards. Or maybe: brave Warriors, captivating Bards, soothing Druids and insightful Wizards?
How to play the game of communication? Stay awhile and listen.

Leader in the land of dilemmas
Leaders struggle with unclear choices every day, when following their path.
Should you care more about your people or the customer, treat everyone equally or according to needs? Quick decisions or democracy? To whom should we pay more attention? How far can you bend the rules before something snaps? Can you have both transparency and high morale simultaneously? Should we tolerate toxic high-performers?
What factors should be taken into account when making difficult decisions? How to navigate the meanders of different personalities, organizations and a changing business environment? How to balance time, money and emotions while maintaining internal consistency? If only there were some magic box into which, on the one end, we put the description and context of the situation, and on the other, we receive instructions on what to do...
Supposedly heading the team, but often alone. So let's go on an adventure and face these dilemmas together.
Haunted Projects Survival Guide
Have you ever been in a project that resembled a haunted mansion straight out of a horror story?
This talk will guide you through the old ghosts of bad decisions, countless bodies falling out of the closet, voices whispering conflicting requirements, ancient code, gargantuan monoliths deep down in the dungeons, enigmatic figures in suits, scrolls with cryptic documentation, a mummy wrapped in bureaucratic papers, micromanaging puppeteers, sense of impending doom and a constant struggle between autonomy, mastery and purpose
Even if there is no easy way out, we can fight the monsters or befriend them together. Stay and listen, adventurers.
