Philip Engelmartin heads Security Engineering and Professional Enablement at SAP, where he leads workforce development in secure software practices. He operates global programs for developers and security practitioners, including a security champions network, secure-coding and threat-modeling training, and software supply-chain security initiatives.
Previously, Philip served as Technical Advisor in SAP's Office of the CSO and as Director, Security Advisory. He co-led the security workstream for Germany's Corona-Warn-App, overseeing security architecture, threat modeling, and cryptographic reviews for the privacy-preserving contact tracing application, which achieved over 48 million downloads.
Philip's expert assessments on software supply chain security have informed European policy research advising the German government and parliament. He contributed to policy frameworks on SBOMs, secure development practices, and vulnerability disclosure published by interface (formerly Stiftung Neue Verantwortung) and research on securing armed forces' software supply chains published by the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP).
