Application Preview Environments in 5 minutes
I'm going to give you a 5 minute demo on how you can implement preview deployments for your Kubernetes based applications, using ArgoCD's ApplicationSet resource. A new environment will be created and updated from a relevant pull request (PR) in GitHub. All this will be done with a single YAML file for an entire application repository, no copy paste and no miss-configurations.
With the rise of GitOps deployment patterns, many deployments or changes go through repositories, with limited visibility on what a small configuration change will actually do. New deployments or environments can often mean copy & paste of YAML configuration from an existing environment or reference example. Then the immediate follow up commits to correct something that was not changed initially. Some hurried approvals from people with little context and hopefully a quick deployment pipeline. There must be a better way to generate new deployments reliably.
