Peter Zimmerman received his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University’s Biology Department in 1992, pursued postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health, and joined the CWRU Center for Global Health & Diseases faculty in 1997. His molecular diagnostics and genomics studies in Papua New Guinea and Madagascar have evaluated epidemiology and mechanisms of pathogenesis of malaria and, more recently COVID-19. Dr. Zimmerman is the Global Health Concentration Coordinator for the CWRU MPH Program.
