I’m software engineer on Laravel’s Open Source team, where I work on projects including Boost, MCP, Roster, and Laravel’s AI tooling. My work focuses on open source maintenance, developer tooling, AI-assisted development, and improving contributor workflows at scale. Before Laravel, I built large-scale AI communication systems handling millions of messages and calls. I has spoken at Laracon India(1000+ audiesnce) and multiple Laravel community meetups, and regularly works on the intersection of Laravel, AI, and open source developer experience.

AI for OSS: Scaling Contributions Without Losing Taste

AI has made contributing to open source dramatically easier. For maintainers, that also means more issues, more pull requests, and more code to evaluate without any increase in maintainer time.

I work on Laravel's open source team across projects including Boost, Laravel AI, MCP, and Roster, which together have accumulated more than 100 million package installs and nearly 7,000+ GitHub stars. On a simple days, I may work through 10 to 20 community contributions alongside my own engineering work.

The challenge is not simply reviewing contributions faster. Laravel is intentionally opinionated about APIs, conventions, backwards compatibility, and developer experience, so technically correct code may still not belong in the project.

In this talk, I'll show the AI-assisted workflow I use to scale that work: the harnesses and repository context I give coding agents, the guardrails that keep automation safe, and how I use agents to investigate issues, reproduce bugs, trace code, run tests, check edge cases, and prepare first-pass reviews.

The final merge decision remains human.

The goal is to automate the repetitive work without automating away the judgment, project direction, and taste that make an open source project distinctive.

One Runtime to Rule, Scale, and Sleep Better

We will look at FrankenPHP from the ground up and how it shifts PHP from a PHP FPM world into a single modern server runtime.
By embedding PHP directly into the web server, it cuts out layers, speeds up requests, improves streaming and async workflows, and brings built-in support for things like HTTP 2, HTTP 3, metrics, and better logging. We will talk about why that change matters for real apps and real deployments, especially when simplicity and performance both matter. We will also touch on how FrankenPHP can be extended through plugins so your runtime gains features without bolting on extra services or glue scripts.

FrankenPHP - New tool in phpland

FrankenPHP a game-changer for PHP devs like us. It’s a next-gen PHP application server that blends the power of async execution with the simplicity we love about PHP. Think crazy-fast performance with features like built-in HTTP/2, WebSockets, and Worker Thread all out of the box. Whether you're cooking up real-time apps or scaling APIs like a pro, FrankenPHP makes it ridiculously easy. I’ve been exploring it, and honestly, it feels like PHP leveled up. Come check it out with me I’ll share how it works.
