For over 15 years, Rafael Amaral has been committed to advancing the renewable energy industry, contributing to the implementation of utility-scale power systems across several continents. With a foundation in electrical engineering, he understood from the start that field performance builds trust. His focus has consistently been on ensuring turbines operate efficiently, grids remain stable, and teams deliver safely and on time.
Rafael currently serves as Executive Vice President at a renewable energy company, with full P&L responsibility for approximately $220 million in revenue. His responsibilities span field services, repowering, project execution, and asset management across wind, solar, and battery storage in North America.
Rafael's career began in Brazil, where he graduated as valedictorian in Electrical Engineering. Early experience designing high-voltage substations and electrical systems helped him build a strong technical foundation and gain insight into how energy systems respond under pressure. This knowledge became vital as he moved into roles managing large-scale renewable operations.
In 2011, Rafael Amaral of Florida joined a global energy organization, beginning in wind commissioning and site leadership roles. He led efforts in turbine delivery, engineering coordination, and customer interaction. Later, he oversaw service teams across several Latin American countries, managing a $10 million business with around 120 employees. These roles taught him how to lead diverse teams across challenging environments and establish operational clarity.
Rafael's move into global leadership included managing workforce strategy for about 1,600 field employees in 25 countries. He later took on responsibility for international operations valued at nearly $190 million, focusing on process improvement, safety, and margin stability through the practical application of lean principles.
Rafael then led operations in North America and the Americas, overseeing more than 1,200 employees and up to $160 million in revenue. In 2024, he led the integration of over 10 acquired companies into a unified platform. That same year, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, overseeing construction and operations in the U.S. and Canada.
Throughout his professional journey, Rafael Amaral has remained focused on execution, operational discipline, and long-term value creation in renewable energy.
