Rajeshkumar Rajubhai Golani is an accomplished technology leader with over a decade of experience at the intersection of AI/ML driven product innovation, mobile development, and large scale system engineering. Currently a Senior Tech Lead at Meta Platforms, Rajesh leads a team of over 20 engineers developing next generation AI products on Facebook’s News Feed, including the widely adopted Meta AI powered features like Feed Deep Dive and AI powered comment suggestions, each garnering over 100 million monthly active users.
Rajesh’s journey at Meta has seen him transition through pivotal roles from spearheading the redesign of the Like/Comment/Share bar to leading ML driven personalization projects that significantly increased user engagement and private sharing on the Facebook app. Prior to his current role, he managed cross functional teams and launched innovative features such as Twitter style post threading and personalized commenting suggestions, with some features contributing to over 10 percent of total Facebook comments.
Before joining Meta, Rajesh was a Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he contributed to the Azure Edge Link and Capacity Infrastructure Service projects, enhancing automation and credential management for large scale infrastructure. He also interned at Amazon, where his contributions to the textbook rentals team led to considerable savings in engineering hours.
Rajesh’s career began at Tata Consultancy Services, where he built tax management systems for Indian state governments and led the development of a rapid application development framework using J2EE and Spring technologies.
He holds a Master’s in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from L.D. College of Engineering. Rajesh is also a published researcher, with papers presented at SIGCOMM and the ACM Internet Measurement Conference (IMC) on mobile traffic differentiation.
He has been recognized through his active involvement in esteemed professional organizations, being a Fellow Member of the Institute of Analytics (IoA), UK, a Fellow Member of Sigma Xi, and a Senior Member of IEEE memberships that highlight his ongoing contributions and standing in the global professional community. Apart from this, he has also won the Amazon Global Intern Hackathon, being honored with the Most Impactful Project Award at Google Hack4HumanityNYC, and receiving the Star of Learners award at TCS.
