Dr. Randall G. Melchert OD received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1978 from the Illinois College of Optometry. Before that, he attended several campuses within the University of Wisconsin system, including Madison, Oshkosh, and Fox Valley. During his time at ICO, he served as Class Treasurer. He was awarded the Eugene W. Strawn Award for Leadership and Service, recognizing his commitment to leadership and excellence in service.

Since 1978, his clinic has operated under the guiding motto, “Your vision is our passion.” Melchert Eye Care offers personalized care and a comprehensive range of services, including disease management, thorough eye exams, and expert eyewear fittings. The clinic also offers a wide selection of designer frames and lenses tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

Dr. Melchert’s charitable efforts have taken him around the world. He has provided optometric care through mission trips to Thailand, Panama, Jordan, and the Dominican Republic. He has accompanied veterans on Honor Flights to Washington, DC, offering support as they visit national memorials.

His personal life is deeply connected to his faith. He is a long-time member of Brookside Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the Board of Deacons and actively participates in the church choir. He has also been involved in supporting missionaries and other faith-based efforts.

Outside his work, Dr. Melchert enjoys watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, reading, and spending time at museums. He values time with his wife, five children, and grandchildren, often engaging in family activities and creating meaningful memories.

Dr. Melchert is also president of VCY America, a Christian broadcasting network, and is involved in the restoration of the historic Milwaukee Breakwater Lighthouse. Dr. Melchert continues to serve his community with humility, dedication, and a lifelong commitment to accessible eye care.
