My name is Rafael and I'm a Senior Research in Industrial Robotics at INESC TEC and an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Porto, where I hold a PhD in Electrical and Computers Engineering.

Frustrated by the fragmented and brittle state of robotics software deployment, we created Robotair, a DevOps platform for robotics that enables automated CI/CD, OTA updates, and monitoring at scale. At its core is Rigel, an open-source container-based framework for ROS that helps robotics teams adopt the same workflows cloud-native developers use every day.

My mission is to bridge the gap between DevOps and robotics—making robots as easy to build, test, and ship as modern web services.
