Psychological Safety: The Key to Every Team’s Success

Amy Edmonson, Harvard Business School professor popularized the concept of psychological safety. Teams with high psychological safety are more likely to engage in open communication, learn from failures, and ultimately perform better. It fosters an atmosphere where individuals feel accepted, respected, and confident in expressing their thoughts, contributing to a more innovative and collaborative work environment. When individuals feel psychologically safe, they are more likely to contribute their ideas, take risks, and engage in meaningful dialogue. We will discuss some ways to have psychological safety and promote a transparent learning organization where everyone can make mistakes without fear or repercussion.
