Dr. Gans is the Founder and CEO of The American Institute of Balance (AIB). AIB is recognized as one of the largest and best-known diagnostic, treatment, and research facilities for equilibrium and vestibular disorders in the USA. The Institute has trained over 13,000 professionals, cared for over 120,000 patients, and trained 60 AuD doctoral and International Vestibular Medicine Fellows. Through its thousands of Certified Partners in Balance, 90 Centers of Specialty Care in 31 states, AIB represents the world’s largest network of balance specialists. Dr. Gans received his PhD from The Ohio State University in Auditory-Vestibular Physiology and for the past 30 years has been a recognized thought leader in this specialty. Dr. Gans has presented over 150 international papers in 35 countries and authored dozens of scientific articles, textbook chapters, and texts. In addition, he has developed numerous diagnostic and treatment protocols for imbalance, oscillopsia and BPPV. He is a Life Member of AAA, ASHA and is a Research Scientist Member of the American Academy of Neurology and American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. He is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from A.T. Still Health Science University and a Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Audiology. He served on the AAA Board of Directors for 6 years and as its President in 2004-2005.
