Rishabh Budhiraja is a Staff Engineer at idealo, working at the intersection of AI agents, commerce, and production engineering.

His current work focuses on building idealo’s AI shopping assistant: a production-oriented agentic system that transforms messy natural-language shopping intent into grounded product answers. He works on agent orchestration, MCP-based tool surfaces, prompt versioning, observability, evaluation, and frontend patterns where user actions and UI state become part of the model context.

Rishabh is especially interested in the engineering discipline behind reliable AI products: how to move beyond impressive demos toward systems that are debuggable, testable, cost-aware, and safe enough for real users.

He recently co-presented “API, MCP, or MCP App? Choosing the right surface for AI agents” at WeAreDevelopers World Congress, where he shared practical lessons from idealo’s work with ChatGPT, Claude, MCP Apps, and internal AI agents.
