I am an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Internal Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Staff Physician at North Texas VA Healthcare System. I treat adult patients with blood disorders and a wide range of cancers at Veteran Affairs North Texas Healthcare System. I am passionate about evidence based integrative medical approaches that play a major role in disease prevention and survivorship care plan. I believe that integrative oncology which combines mainstream oncology along with a whole person approach truly benefits patients. My interest in a comprehensive holistic approach led me to complete a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona in 2016. I have also completed acupuncture training for physicians from Academy of Pain Research in San Francisco. I am board certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine.
I am the Cancer Physician Liaison for the Cancer Committee at Veteran Affairs North Texas Healthcare System since 2017. I am also the Principal Investigator in 2 Phase III clinical trials at the North Texas VA Healthcare System. I lead the GU tumor board at North Texas VA Healthcare System. I am also involved with the Association of VA hematology oncology( AVAHO) and part of the National Palliative care Committee. I have also participated in “Whole Health: Continue the Conversation Community of Practice Call “monthly presentations at the North Texas VA Healthcare System.
