Rob Schamberg has served as a CASEL senior district advisor since 2011, supported several CASEL collaborating districts. Rob is the primary author of Districtwide SEL Essentials for Superintendents published by CASEL and AASA. Rob is the developer and facilitator of the CASEL SEL Strategic Planning Institute, in which district teams develop and implement sustainable SEL for all K-12 students, staff and community. He has authored several CASEL case studies of SEL implementation and partnerships. Prior to CASEL Rob was a public school educator, including roles as a teacher, principal, & superintendent.
Rob is the founder and chair of Reno Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO), providing leadership development and outdoor skills development to youth from marginalized community through backpacking, rafting and other outdoor adventures. Rob has been leading outdoor trips with integrated SEL for over 48 years. He believes that outdoor environments are the finest place to gain SEL skills.
