Rosalyn Zuniga is the Project Manager for the Zero Waste Textile Initiative at the University of North Texas. The project, which has engaged over 1,000 students across all 14 of its university’s colleges, has led to the diversion of over 3 tons of textiles & apparel from landfills. Her professional expertise has been exhibited by the development of frameworks to optimize organizational efficiency, having increased productivity per volunteer by 5.4x within a 2-year period. Her current research, which has been published in the International Journal of Higher Education, revolves around the application of life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology to quantify the environmental impact of closed-loop textile waste systems. She has presented her research through avenues such as Yale University’s Sustainable Fashion Consumption Symposium and the International Textile & Apparel Association (ITAA) Conference. Her passion lies in the use of data as a tool to achieve actionable change within the textile & apparel industry.
