Roy Y. Gagaza is the president and CEO of Journey Wealth Management, LLC, where he focuses on helping individuals and families prepare for retirement in a clear, understandable way. He leads a team that serves clients from offices in Manteca, California, and Aiea and Honolulu, Hawaii, guiding people through decisions about income, savings, and protection. He approaches this work with a strong sense of responsibility, aiming to offer strategies that align with each client’s goals rather than pushing one-size-fits-all solutions.

Roy built his professional foundation during more than two decades of service as an Armor Officer in the United States Army, after first spending several years in the Army Reserve. He served in key leadership roles, including as a Tank Platoon Leader during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and as a Troop Commander in South Korea. He also worked as an Operations and Training Officer, helping prepare units for deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, and he received the Bronze Star for his service.

Gagaza began planning his transition into the financial services field while still on active duty, drawing on his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from San Jose State University and a growing interest in economic education. He met with clients, led educational seminars, and studied for professional designations even while deployed, including a year in Kuwait in 2004. He later completed requirements to become a Certified Estate Planner and Registered Financial Consultant and now holds insurance licenses in both Hawaii and California.

Roy Y. Gagaza leads Journey Wealth Management, with an emphasis on retirement income planning, investment and wealth management, tax planning, health care strategies, and legacy and estate planning. He works to listen carefully, explain options in plain language, and respect each client’s comfort level with risk and change. His efforts have been recognized through honors such as induction into the Advisors Excel Hall of Fame, multiple Elite Advisor awards, the Security Benefit Elite Advisor Award, and the Allianz Century Award for reaching a significant premium milestone.

Roy extends his work beyond individual client meetings by offering seminars and outreach efforts that support pre-retirees and retirees in learning how to protect savings, create income strategies, and plan with taxes in mind. He collaborates with local organizations, including law enforcement groups, school districts, chambers of commerce, and accounting professionals, to share education in the communities he serves. His firm also supports causes that help veterans, regional food banks, animal rescue efforts, and backcountry trail conservation, reflecting a desire to give back in practical ways.

Roy Y. Gagaza has a family life closely connected to his work, with a spouse who serves alongside him at the firm and adult children who have pursued careers in finance, education, and business operations, including involvement in the family business. He is originally from Livermore, California, and values time with his loved ones, including grandchildren. Outside of work, he enjoys being in or near the water, playing golf, traveling, paddleboarding, snorkeling, diving, and reading.
