Natural Language is a new UI: GitHub Copilot and the technology behind it

Conversational AI is everywhere. It combines the latest advances in language understanding, natural language processing, bot service, machine learning and deep learning, with a trusted, enterprise grade approach. In this session, Alexander Wachtel - Ph.D. Candidate @KIT, Microsoft AI MVP & MCT - explains the technology behind the OpenAI's GitHub Copilot. Based on an encoder-decoder architecture and an attention mechanism, the Transformer implements a tool for language processing. However, GitHub Copilot is more than auto-completion of recognized language patterns. It uses the provided context to synthesize a suitable code. Together with the Model Codex, which is built by GutHub and OpenAI, it suggests numerous possibilities of suitable programming snippets to a natural language input. The integration of the OpenAI Large Language Models, in a trusted, enterprise grade approach, opens a new channel for users and developers to interact with UIs in a natural way.
