Empowering Young Women through Vocational Training for Decent Work and Economic Growth
This session explores the role of vocational training in advancing gender equality and economic resilience among young women in rural Sindh, Pakistan. Drawing on field research, success stories, and case studies, the session highlights how skill development programs in trades such as tailoring and beauty services have enabled over 250 women to achieve decent work, economic independence, and community leadership. The discussion also connects these grassroots initiatives with broader policy frameworks and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5 & SDG 8), offering practical insights into designing gender-responsive training models for marginalized communities.
