Aces (Adverse Childhood Experiences) How to make them work for good
I use my own experience as a social worker, parent, and author to help parents and professionals understand what adverse childhood experiences are and how they can affect the health, development, and well-being of our children.
Intergenerational patterns will be explored as well as self-accountability, forgiveness, self-awareness, signs of trauma, abuse, neglect, and steps to healing.
The takeaways will consist of ways to cope with the challenges of parenting and methods that can be used to keep the parent centered such as:
How to relate to changing behaviors in our children in various ages and stages.
How to balance work/life stressors while maintaining a healthy home environment.
How to improve self-care to promote healthy mental and emotional health and well-being for self and family.
How to replace negative behaviors from intergenerational trauma with positive healthy behaviors.
Increase of self-awareness and healing.
The target audience is comprised of parents and professionals alike. The workshop duration is 1.5 hours and is comprised of a lecture and interactive format with polls, questions, and individual/cohesive group work.
