The Chocolate Company - All about people and Organization Culture

Imagine being immersed in a virtual company called 'The Chocolate Company'.

An inspiring 'Willy Wonka' :-) experience where you learn as an invidiual through solving Business Cases and where you disover your own talents and passions.

Being competent is one thing but doing these things you get energy from is something else...

The Chocolate Company is build upon state-of-the-art cloud technology and consists of more than 30 Business Cases. Each of these cases are linked to several competences, both hard- and soft skills.

Thanks to these linked competences learning tracks can be personalized to individuals and differentation is possible.

Attendees who participate in The Chocolate Company are presented a number of cases or select their cases thanks to their intrinsic motivation.
Goal is that they write their own solutions to it and that they train their soft- and hard skills. Learning by doing and contextual learning providing the perfect mix to gain new skills & knowledge.

Following technologies are being applied within this virtual environment: automation through MS PowerAutomate, low- and no code app development thanks to MS PowerApps. Improving productivity and efficiency thanks to AI, Copilot and Robotice Process Automation (RPA).
Within the Citizen Development App development we also apply UX Design Thinking principles and the SCRUM Framework. Iterative app development with a clear product and value focus (Cfr. poker planning).

Next to the people focus we also blend Organization Cultures within The Chocolate Company. We therefore apply the OCAI-model within this virtual business environment (cfr. Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument). The OCAI-model from Camerion & Quinn is based on the competing value model where an organization is plotted as a mix of one or more culture arche types (Clan culture type, Adhocracy, Hierarchy & Market culture type).

This OCAI-model is mixed with The Chocolate Company so that indviduals experience which kind of organization culture they best fit in. Also, when being a consultant on customers they can apply these techniques to have a positive impact on human changes.

Also, what's interesting is that each organization culture type or quadrant is linked to a preferred leadership style. This is a great way to help current leaders how to have the biggest impact on the changes being applied.
