Research, development, and transfer of Green ICT solutions—i.e., resource-efficient information and communication technologies designed to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions across the entire lifecycle of digital infrastructures—form a central focus of the funding activities of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). This contribution provides a concise overview of the thematic range of funded projects and situates them within the current research policy context. It highlights key technological priorities and strategic objectives at the intersection of digitalization and sustainability. Furthermore, it outlines opportunities for academia and industry to actively engage in the roadmapping process of the High-Tech Agenda Germany.
