Session
From Problem to Product: Building with Design Thinking, AI and Intent
What if you could turn years of experience into a product without being a software developer?
In this session, I’ll share how I built PBIX A11y, a free browser-based accessibility checker for Power BI, using design thinking, Microsoft Copilot, and vibe coding in Lovable.
I’ll walk through the journey from identifying a real user problem to defining a solution, translating accessibility knowledge into practical checks, and rapidly building and iterating a working tool.
I’ll also share what worked, and what didn’t, when using AI tools across the build process. Copilot supported me as a thinking partner, helping to brainstorm ideas, refine prompts, and translate accessibility requirements into clearer, more structured logic. Lovable provided the vibe coding environment where the solution was actually built and iterated quickly.
I’ll highlight the importance of human-in-the-loop decision making, especially when AI suggestions exceed real platform constraints.
Attendees will leave with a practical understanding of how to turn domain expertise into a working product using design thinking and AI, with a grounded view of its constraints and responsibilities.
