When Students Find Their Voice: A Workshop on Identity, Confidence and Communication in the Modern C
In an age where students are constantly visible online but increasingly struggle to articulate who they are, schools face a growing challenge: how do we help young people develop genuine voice, identity and communication confidence — not just digital presence? This hands-on workshop invites educators and school leaders to explore practical frameworks for developing student voice beyond performance. Drawing on Voice Lab™ — an artist development methodology adapted for educational settings — participants will experience and reflect on approaches that support authentic self-expression, creative identity and communication confidence across age groups and subject areas. The session will explore: · How identity and belonging shape a student's ability to communicate · Practical tools for building communication confidence in the classroom · The difference between performing for an audience and speaking with a voice · How creative communication frameworks support student wellbeing Participants leave with immediately applicable strategies and a deeper understanding of how voice development sits at the intersection of wellbeing, identity and academic confidence. No performance background required. Suitable for teachers, heads of year, pastoral leads and school leaders.
