Session

Building a resilient workforce by empower them with knowledge and competency

Are you running e-learning for training and assuming that competency development in your organization is taken care of?

In today's fragmented, information-overloaded and sometimes scary world, structuring and organizing competency journeys, paired with knowledge communities, can help build a resilient workforce, as well as bring learning and competency building into where people are at work.

In my session, I will share how I have set up competency portals and organized knowledge communities using SharePoint Communication sites, Microsoft Learning Pathways, and Viva Engage communities. Additionally, I will discuss how I have utilized Teams for my "Norwegian Microsoft 365 Community." We will explore the different options and how these work in various contexts. In this session I will show how to utilize Copilot to help organize guidelines, routines and guides for the competency and training portals.

I will explore the latest design features in SharePoint, and show how they can be used together with existing tools, Copilot for SharePoint, combined with tried-and-true SharePoint principles that still work wonders today.

Finally, I will talk about the importance of Champions, how to get them, and how to organize the competency and knowledge ownership in the organization.

Key takeaways:

1 - Effective Use of SharePoint, Copilot for SharePoint and Viva Engage: Learn how to set up competency portals and organize knowledge communities using SharePoint Communication sites, Microsoft Learning Pathways, and Viva Engage communities. Discover how these tools can be leveraged to create structured and engaging learning environments.
2 - Combining New and Proven Techniques: Explore the latest design features in SharePoint and Copilot alongside established principles that continue to be effective. Understand how to integrate these approaches to enhance the functionality and appeal of your competency portals and knowledge communities.
3 - Importance of Champions and Ownership: Recognize the critical role of Champions in fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Understand the significance of competency and knowledge ownership in building a resilient and knowledgeable workforce.

I'll make room in the end of the session for Q&As and will of course be available for further talks and discussions after the session.
