Interface ZERO (UI0): The Rise of Invisible Products in the Age of AI

FR: Interface ZERO (UI0) : l’émergence des produits invisibles à l’ère du tout IA

Imagine a world where screens—those familiar windows into our digital experiences—gradually fade away. In their place, intelligent, invisible systems, always connected to our intentions, take over. This future is not a distant vision—it is already here.

We are witnessing the rise of intelligent overlays integrated directly into our operating systems. These technologies are radically transforming how we design and consume products. No more clicks, no more menus—only agents that anticipate our needs before we even express them.

In this new world, search engines are being replaced by ultra-sophisticated conversational assistants. Complex queries are becoming simple dialogues. The result? SEO and interface design are fading, replaced by intent-driven journeys where AI explores APIs and makes decisions on our behalf.

Designing a product will no longer be about interfaces but about emotions and understanding deep-seated expectations. Digital products will no longer be tools to navigate, but tailored responses to barely expressed needs.

But this revolution doesn’t stop there. Every day, new technological tools push the boundaries of what we thought was possible. They compress timelines, bypass steps, and blur the lines between product, design, and technology. Everything is accelerating. Production cycles are shortening. Traditional processes are collapsing.

In this constantly evolving ecosystem, business models are shaking. Building a medium-term business plan? Mission impossible. Generative AI is announcing more powerful capabilities daily, replacing entire segments of traditional production systems.

And while the Roblox generation grows up in ever-changing digital worlds, we must rethink our products to ensure they continuously evolve. Users—more assisted and connected than ever—will no longer interact with interfaces but with systems that act for them, almost instinctively.

This implies a deep transformation in our professions. Product managers, designers, developers—our roles must reinvent themselves once again. Brands, too, face a challenge: how can they remain visible in a world where interfaces—the screens that once captured attention—are disappearing?

Competition will be fierce. Designing a compelling offering in this era of invisible products will require unprecedented creativity.

So, are you ready?
