Exploring the Ethics of AI in Healthcare
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have the potential to transform patient care, quality and outcomes. With the opportunity to revolutionize healthcare, comes concerns about the negative impact these technologies could have on human interaction and patient safety, including gender and racial bias. As our models become increasingly more sophisticated and complex, so too do the demands for predicting, mitigating, measuring, and communicating negative outcomes. In this session we will explore Cerner’s thought leadership around AI and ML and how we transform data into healthcare intelligence. We will tie this into a discussion around ethics and the role of patient safety in AI and ML development, deployment, implementation and adoption and how Cerner is connecting the dots.
