Health equity has become a central theme in our healthcare industry’s drive to deliver more accessible higher-quality care. The rapidly evolving fields of artificial intelligence, big data, and sophisticated IT tools are being harnessed to effect this positive change. As innovators, developers, clinicians, and HIT experts, we are well positioned to join in and lead this industry transformation. In this panel, we will explore health equity, both what it is and why it is critically important. We will look at Cerner’s approach to tackling this challenge at the organizational and product development levels and the opportunities this presents.

While the concept of addressing health equity is not foreign, clients are increasingly seeking guidance and technology capabilities to advance the needs of their at-risk communities by screening patients for unmet patient needs, connecting people to resources, and measuring the impact of interventions.
