From DataOps to DevSecOps: Building secure, AI-powered data applications with Microsoft Fabric
In a cloud-first world, securing data applications can no longer be an afterthought. Microsoft Fabric — the unified analytics platform by Microsoft — enables developers and data engineers to design, deploy, and secure data-driven applications with DevSecOps principles at the core.
In this session, we’ll explore how to build secure data architectures with Microsoft Fabric components (OneLake, Lakehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks), enforce security and compliance from development to production, and safely integrate generative AI features while mitigating the risk of sensitive data exposure.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Build secure, scalable analytics applications in Fabric
- Apply DevSecOps practices across data workflows (CI/CD, secrets management, access control)
- Monitor and protect sensitive data with Microsoft Purview and RBAC
- Use AI responsibly in Fabric (Copilot, grounding, PII protection)
- Target audience: Data engineers, developers, cloud architects, DevOps and security professionals, AI practitioners
- Technical level: Intermediate to advanced
- Tools & platforms covered: Microsoft Fabric, GitOps, Microsoft Purview, Azure DevOps, Power BI, Copilot
- Technical requirements: Live demo requires access to Fabric workspace and GitHub/Azure DevOps repo for CI/CD illustration
