Getting people to think about computation is just as important as teaching coding. At work we started a coding basics series for creatives as part of our digital transformation strategy. However it was clear that if the barriers of entry to coding weren’t removed then they wouldn’t get very far. Those barriers are conceptual and cultural but they are surmountable with the right approach This talk will review how a group of designers with zero coding experience were brought into computational thinking and how that enabled them to feel more confident and use coding in their projects.
