Securing the Internet of Agents: A Practical Blueprint for Registry-Grade Identity and ANS
To demonstrate feasibility, the paper analyzes emerging industry adoption, including GoDaddy’s deployment of ANS as an Internet-scale registry for agent identities, and similar moves by other registry and domain-infrastructure providers. These early implementations show how proven Internet trust building blocks DNS, PKI, certificate authorities, and transparency systems can be extended to secure autonomous AI ecosystems.
The paper delivers an actionable roadmap for organizations:
establish a minimal verifiable registry,
enforce strong naming and identity bindings,
integrate authorization and policy checks into discovery, and
operate a control plane that manages revocation, rotation, suspension, and incident response for rogue or cloned agents.
