Marketing You Own: Change Agencies Without Starting Over

When an agency relationship ends or marketing moves in-house, the next person needs more than account access. They need the tracking setup, working files, documented process, and history that explain what has already been tried.

For small-business owners and marketing leaders, that handoff is a practical test of ownership. Can the next person use the assets? Can they understand the reporting? Can they continue the work without reconstructing the previous team's process?

This session explains how to prepare for that transition while the relationship is still working. We will examine account control, content files, tracking configurations, workflow documentation, and usable exports of historical results. Attendees will learn what to ask for at the beginning of an engagement, what to maintain during it, and what to verify before a handoff.

The goal is a marketing operation that can carry its learning forward. A new agency or in-house hire should be able to see what was tried, understand the results, and make the next decision with that history available.

After this session, attendees will be able to:

1. Audit who controls their marketing accounts, working files, tracking setup, documentation, and historical records.
2. Define the materials and access required at onboarding, during ongoing work, and at handoff.
3. Check whether a replacement team can use the transferred assets and continue the workflow.

Audience: Small-business owners, founders, marketing leaders, and agency operators responsible for client handoffs.

Level: Beginner. No technical background required.

Preferred duration: 45-minute session. A 20-minute condensed version is available, focused on the ownership audit and handoff checklist.
