Deep Dive: Demystifying BC Data Access for Copilot Studio Agents: MCP vs Connectors vs Dataverse

Welcome to the deep dive session you've been waiting for! Copilot Studio offers multiple ways to connect to Business Central data, and this can leave even the most seasoned BC expert confused as to which one you should use in your Agents. With all the recent buzz, you may be tempted to say, “BC MCP Server, of course!”, but did you know all the places where it comes up short? How about Power Platform Connectors for BC? And which one do you use? Direct connectors or Agent Flows? And then there's Dataverse, which exists in multiple options: MCP Server, Power Platform Connector, AND as a Knowledge Source. Yes, I know, it can be very confusing. But in this deep dive session, I will cover each of the three approaches in detail and demystify them, so you know when each choice fits best. People who attend my sessions say that I have a knack for taking complex technical topics and explaining them in a clear, approachable way. If there was ever a session where that skill would be needed most, this would be the one, and I will put that skill to use for your benefit.
