Event-Driven Architectures with SQL Server 2025 and Change Event Streaming
SQL Server 2025 extends its role beyond traditional relational storage by introducing native capabilities that enable it to act as an Event Store and event producer. With built-in support for Change Event Streaming, SQL Server can emit data changes in near real time and integrate directly with event streaming platforms such as Azure Event Hubs and Apache Kafka.
This session explores how these capabilities can be used to implement event-driven architectures, supporting patterns such as event sourcing, CQRS, and data replication across distributed systems. Through concrete demos and architectural examples, we will analyze how to propagate state changes reliably, decouple microservices via asynchronous messaging, and keep heterogeneous data stores synchronized, while preserving consistency and scalability.
