Just as self-driving cars are moving steadily through levels of autonomy toward full independence, AI-powered coding tools are evolving rapidly, reshaping software development at every step. In this talk, we'll borrow this "autonomy levels" analogy to illustrate how AI is increasingly "taking the wheel" in the coding process. We'll explore how far we've already come - from early intelligent autocomplete tools toward agentic AI systems capable of much deeper understanding and interaction with code and environment.

We'll see what is possible today and push the imagination toward future scenarios, ultimately confronting the question every developer wonders about: will AI eventually replace us, or will human creativity and intuition keep developers firmly in the driver's seat?
