Pitch the Password: Securing Access to Cloud Native Resources with Certificates.

In a Cloud Native world, many organizations and users still use tools and processes that work but are not necessarily the most secure or modern way to access said resources. We're talking about VPNs, shared secrets, legacy keys, and more.

In this session, we will discuss the current status quo with regards to accessing cloud native resources (servers, DB's, K8s, etc on AWS, GCP, Azure, and more) and how accessing these resources the current way (using VPNs, shared secrets, legacy keys, and more) could potentially lead to your systems being compromised and your data exfiltrated.

The solution to this problem is modernizing how we approach access and using tools that do not rely on legacy methods but rather take advantage of standardized and modern security principles and best practices. This includes using certificate-based authentication and authorization that can easily be set up and integrated into your daily workflow using OSS tools like Teleport.
