Follow the money, then follow the family: Health systems and the business of care

Most of what shapes a child's health is decided far from the doctor's office: in reimbursement models, coverage rules, and the data that decides who counts. Dr. Allison Alimayu spent more than a decade inside UnitedHealthcare and DaVita Integrated Care designing value-based payment programs, and she now reviews evidence for national Medicare coverage as a member of the federal MEDCAC panel.

In this session, she shows how payment, coverage, and data decide who gets care, where children and families fall through, and what leaders can change inside their own systems. Audiences leave with three questions to ask of any program, budget, or benefit design, and with a clearer picture of where their own decisions land for the families they serve.

Every version is tailored to the audience, from health plan executives to public health teams.

Formats: keynote, executive briefing, or leadership workshop. Length: 30 to 60 minutes, adaptable. Audience: health plans, health systems, payers, employers, public health, and health associations. Available in person across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia, or virtually.
