Neurodivergent Children & Teens: Understanding Their Sexual Behavior and Development

Many autistic, ADHD, and other neurodivergent children express sexual behavior differently than neurotypical kids. These differences are often misunderstood, leading adults to see the behavior as inappropriate or alarming. When that happens, kids can be unfairly punished or labeled.

With rising rates of neurodivergent diagnoses, more families are facing these challenges without good information or support. Fathers sometimes overreact out of love and concern—learning what’s typical helps them respond calmly, protect their kids, and strengthen trust.
