Help, I'm an Architect for an Open Source Project!
When I started as a solution architect for the Swedish Public Employment Service’s design system, I didn’t think much about the fact that the project was run as an open-source initiative. But on my very first day, I found myself in a meeting with another government agency, discussing how they could use our product alongside their own graphic profile. That’s when I realized that open-source brings a whole new set of considerations that I hadn’t taken into account before. Here, I’m sharing my lessons learned from a year of working with open source in the Swedish public sector.
