Leadership Aikido: Finding Harmony in Conflict
Aikido is a martial arts practice. The goal is to protect yourself while trying to avoid hurting your attacker while still redirecting the attacking motion. Doesn't sound like a very effective physical defense practice, does it? Turns out there is more to the practice that transcends being how you show up to a fight; can also be applied to how you show up as a leader, in your words and communication, and in conflict.
This presentation discusses how effective the fundamentals/theories of aikido can help avoid situations that have conflict from disintegrating and becoming comfortable with partnering with someone instead of becoming their adversary.
